ISP Download Speeds Picking Up

Finally my ISP (Videotron) is taking their service seriously.  For many years the only decent ISP in Montreal has maintained a pretty crap network.  The network was fairly reliable, but download speeds were always horrible.  Their peering agreements were always pegged and it always felt like they were traffic shapping, but screwed up the config.  So even normal traffic just felt laggy.

Within the last few weeks my ISP finally flipped the switch on their new network.  Download speeds are fantastic, upload speeds are the same.  Now the plans that they’re advertising are actually the truth.  Unlike most ISPs that offer 10 mbit/s downloads, but you only ever pull 3 or less.  So kudos to Videotron for taking their business seriously and for kicking up the service without kicking up the pricing.
